Membrane Technology made in Leipzig
qCoat GmbH
The cleantech company qCoat GmbH is a spin-off from the Leibniz Institute of Surface Engineering (IOM) Leipzig. It brings a technology into use that enables polymer membranes (flat and hollow fiber membranes) to be subsequently hydrophilized permanently in a roll-to-roll process — without using toxic or worrisome chemical substances. This refinement increases the flow rate, saves energy and extends the service life of the membranes. Until its own production is set up on an industrial scale, qCoat is currently carrying out sampling processes.
TGFS has been a shareholder in qCoat GmbH since 2021.
