STIHL has been a driver of innovation in forestry and gardening for 95 years. In order to customers’ work with and in nature, the motor and garden equipment manufacturer from Waiblingen near Stuttgart is currently focusing intensively on digital technologies. With the newly established partnership between STIHL and FlyNex, customers in forestry, gardening and landscaping will be particularly supported with data generated by drones.
The technology company FlyNex recently concluded another multi million Euro funding round to develop new business fields and expand its ongoing operations. With the entry of STIHL as an investor, a strategic partnership is formed to utilize drones as tools for data collection and analysis in additional sectors such as forestry and horticulture in the coming years.
As the sole platform in Europe, FlyNex provides comprehensive digital services for business in seven European countries, with a focus on the energy supply, telecommunications, construction and real estate industries. In addition to drone data acquisition, FlyNex also offers a comprehensive, seamless service that includes customer consultation, execution, and the analysis and utilization of the acquired data.
The partnership with STIHL, known in around 160 countries as a leading manufacturer of quality products for forestry, municipalities, crafts, construction, and gardening, provides FlyNex the opportunity to expand its offering to additional industries and target groups. STIHL also sees many advantages in the collaboration: „We have extensively explored the international market for innovative solutions in this field and we are convinced that with the participation in FlyNex, we have found the right partner,“ says Benjamin Junghans, Director at STIHL Digital GmbH. Both partners are confident that they can jointly develop solutions based on drone data that will be of interest to many STIHL customers.
„With our end-to-end platform, we provide companies with automated drones and artificial intelligence for data collection and real-time decision-making. We empower businesses to generate and process data in a way typically only achievable by digital aerospace companies,“ said Andreas Dunsch, CEO of FlyNex.
